Muscota Parents

Muscota New School is a New York City public elementary school located in the Inwood neighborhood of northern Manhattan.

The parents of Muscota are active partners in their children’s learning and a vital part of our school community. There are many ways for parents to get involved; from volunteering in the classroom, being a class parent, volunteering for committees or helping out at events.

All Muscota parents are automatically members of the Parents Association! Our mission is the serve the needs of the children and families in our school community. To that end we work with the teachers and administration of our school to organize community building events, fundraise for vital programs, and run a low cost, high quality after-school program.

The PA holds monthly general meetings, alternating between Thursday evenings at 6:00PM and Friday mornings at 8:30AM. Reminders about the monthly meetings are sent home in the family folder and sent via email blasts.

If you would like to receive eblasts from the PA, please email and ask to be added to our mailing list.

The Muscota administration also maintains a website with additional information about admissions, teachers, programs, the curriculum, and the school’s progressive philosophy at
