Muscota New School is a Kindergarten through 5th grade elementary school.
To ensure diversity within the school population, Muscota New School is a lottery school, whereby the applications for enrollment are divided by gender and randomly selected. After the applications are received for Kindergarten, an equal number of girls and boys are chosen with no more than 25 children per class (2 classes each grade.)
Applying for K-4th grade, 2010/11
You must tour Muscota to receive an application. In October 2009, we begin taking reservations for tours. The tours begin at 8:45 am and take approximately 2 hours to complete. Please note a kick-off Open House scheduled for October 14, so that parents interested in applying to Muscota can learn more about the school. No registration required.

A Second-Look Open House is scheduled for January 20, 2010, to address any questions that may have come up since your tour.
ENROLLMENT
All applications must be in by February 5th.
Families will be notified by mid-February via letters sent to the home addresses on the applications. A waitlist will be established as well. Enrollment can be done during school hours and your acceptance letter will instruct you what you need to bring with you that day.
Muscota New School accepts applications for all grades except 5th grade.
1st grade through 4th grade openings are based on attrition.
