Welcome to the Muscota New School website! We are so glad you came for more information about our school. As you will see by looking through this site, and then hopefully further experience by coming to visit the school, Muscota is a very special learning community. Parents send their children to our school for the family oriented, child-centered education we offer. Children feel that school is an extension of home, an extended family where everyone looks out for each other's well-being while learning about the world. Teachers choose to work here for the opportunity to design curriculum that best serves their children that year. All members of the Muscota community are encouraged to develop their interests through their strengths, in all areas of development, academic as well as social and emotional. This is done through a heavy emphasis on real-world activities and projects in the classroom, the neighborhood and around the city. I could go on and on with such high expectations; the best way to understand what makes Muscota a very different way of learning is to come and see for yourself—just as the children do, we all learn best by doing!
